Realme 14 Pro Hands-On Review: First Impressions & Feature
Realme 14 Pro Hands-On Review: A closer look at its design, display, camera, battery, and performance. Is it worth the price? Find out!

A while back, we had the chance to experience the Realme 14 Pro+, and we have already published a full review of that model. Now, it’s time to take a closer look at the other half of the 14 Pro series—the Realme 14 Pro. Both models are launching in Europe, and Realme showcased them prominently at its booth at MWC.
Realme 14 Pro Hands-on Features
Pricing and Variants
The Realme 14 Pro is priced €100 lower than the Pro+, making it a more affordable alternative. The base 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant is available for €430, while the Pro+ starts at €530. With an early bird discount, both models get a €50 price cut. The official MSRPs are €480 and €580, respectively. Despite their similarities, the two models have significant differences.
Display and Design Differences
The Realme 14 Pro features a dual-curved OLED display, unlike the quad-curved screen on the Pro+. The screen measures 6.77 inches with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1,080 x 2,392 pixels (388ppi). While it lacks branded protective glass, the device maintains an impressive IP68/IP69 rating and MIL-STD-810H compliance, ensuring durability.
On the front, the Realme 14 Pro has a punch-hole cutout for a 16MP selfie camera with a fixed-focus 24mm lens. This is a downgrade from the Pro+, which features a 32MP sensor with autofocus and a wider 21mm lens. The selfie camera on the Pro is also limited to 1080p video recording at 30fps, whereas the Pro+ supports 4K video.
Camera Setup
At first glance, the Realme 14 Pro’s rear camera module looks as busy as the Pro+, but there are key differences. The Pro model lacks a telephoto camera, which the Pro+ has (50MP 73mm periscope lens), and it also does not include an ultra-wide camera (the Pro+ has an 8MP ultra-wide sensor). Instead, the Realme 14 Pro has a 50MP main camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and a smaller sensor size (1/1.95” with 0.8µm pixels vs. 1/1.56” with 1.0µm pixels on the Pro+). It also features a basic 2MP depth sensor. Despite these downgrades, the main camera still supports 4K video recording at 30fps.
Build and Battery Life
In terms of dimensions, the Realme 14 Pro is noticeably thinner and lighter than the Pro+, measuring 7.6/7.8mm in thickness and weighing 179/182g, depending on the color variant. In contrast, the Pro+ measures 8.0/8.3mm and weighs 194/196g. This lighter build makes the Pro model more comfortable to handle.
Despite its slim design, the Realme 14 Pro houses the same 6,000mAh Silicon-Carbon battery as the Pro+. However, its charging speed is slower at 45W compared to the 80W fast charging on the Pro+. Charging from 1% to 50% takes 36 minutes on the Pro, while the Pro+ achieves the same charge in just 24 minutes.
Performance and Hardware
Under the hood, the Realme 14 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Energy chipset, whereas the Pro+ runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. While we haven’t had a chance to benchmark the 7300 Energy variant yet, it is expected to deliver performance close to its Snapdragon counterpart in both CPU and GPU tests.
The unit we tested came with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, which is the highest available configuration. Other variants include 8GB RAM with 128GB storage, as well as 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB options. However, availability may vary by region.
Color Variants and Special Features
Both the Realme 14 Pro and Pro+ come in two colors: Gray and White. The White variant, also known as the “Unique Pearl Design,” features real powdered seashells mixed into the material, creating one-of-a-kind patterns on each device.
Realme has also incorporated thermochromic pigments into the White variant. These pigments turn a vibrant blue when exposed to temperatures below 16°C (61°F). However, this color-changing effect is temporary and fades after about a year.
Another noticeable difference is in the frame design. While the Pro+ features a glossy, smooth frame, the Pro has a matte finish with flatter sides, making it feel different in hand.
Availability
The Realme 14 Pro and 14 Pro+ were first launched in China, followed by an Indian release, and are now available in select European markets. The Realme 14 Pro starts at €430 with the early bird discount, which later increases to €480. The Pro+ starts at €530 and will eventually rise to €580. Notably, the Pro comes with a 67W charger in the box, while the Pro+ includes a 120W charger, which is becoming rare—especially in Europe.

Conclusion
Realme 14 Pro offers a balance of premium features at a more affordable price. While it lacks some of the advanced camera capabilities and faster charging of the Pro+, it retains a high-quality display, solid battery life, and a durable design. If you’re looking for a well-rounded smartphone without stretching your budget to the Pro+, the Realme 14 Pro is a compelling choice.
