Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus review: Where Art Meets Technology

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus offers a stunning display, powerful performance, and S Pen support, making it a premium tablet choice.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus is a great blend of a phone and a laptop. It comes with an S Pen stylus, making it ideal if you like writing or using stylus-based features. However, if you’re a casual user, the simpler and more affordable Tab A series might be a better choice.

Tab S10 Plus has a stunning AMOLED display and powerful speakers, making it fantastic for streaming videos and listening to music. While Apple’s iPad Pro is a strong competitor at a similar price ($999.99), Tab S10 Plus offers more value with the included S Pen, and some stores bundle it with a keyboard.

Samsung also offers Tab S9 Plus at a lower price, but if you want top features, go with Tab S10 Plus. For an even bigger screen, Tab S10 Ultra is the same tablet, just larger.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus price and availability

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus starts at $999.99 / £999 / AU$1,799 for 256GB model with 12GB RAM. You can choose between 256GB or 512GB storage with Wi-Fi and 5G options in Moonstone Gray or Platinum Silver.

With its 12.4-inch screen (larger than the 11-inch iPad Pro) and powerful Mediatek Dimensity 9300+ chip, Tab S10 Plus is excellent for creative tasks. If you want a bigger screen, S10 Ultra offers a 14.6-inch option. For a more budget-friendly tablet, consider Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Plus which is now cheaper or a simpler option like Google Pixel Tablet or 10th-gen iPad for casual use.

Tab S10 Plus includes an S Pen and Samsung’s Galaxy AI suite and some retailers offer a bundle with Book Cover Keyboard, making it a potential laptop replacement. It’s priced on par with 13-inch MacBook Air or Microsoft Surface Pro 11, so it’s best suited for professionals or serious users. Casual users may want a less expensive option.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus display

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus has a huge, bright 12.4-inch display that’s perfect for multitasking and watching content. It’s one of the best tablet displays and if you want an even larger screen, Tab S10 Ultra offers 14.6 inches.

Watching movies and shows on this tablet is a great experience; colors are vivid, and nothing looks blurry or washed out. Multitasking feature also lets you easily arrange apps side by side, making it feel like a real laptop alternative.

Four speakers around the tablet deliver powerful, clear sound that fills a room—great for watching videos or even playing music as you go about your day.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus design

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus is slightly slimmer than the Tab S9 Plus, with a large, beautiful display that’s great for work and creativity. However, some design choices feel a bit bulky.

Using tablet in portrait mode (upright) can be uncomfortable especially for reading or note-taking. S Pen attaches to a charging spot on the back, but it feels rough on your fingers when holding the tablet, and it prevents the tablet from lying flat when the pen is attached. The pen can also magnetically stick to the edge of the screen, though it doesn’t charge there.

Tablet is best used in landscape mode (sideways), where camera is positioned perfectly for video calls and feels comfortable overall.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus software

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus is a powerful tablet with a well-designed operating system, though it’s less casual than an iPad or Pixel Tablet.

Samsung’s multitasking is a standout feature. The app tray at the bottom makes switching between apps easy, and you can have two apps open side-by-side, like Spotify and Canva. You can also drag windows around freely and even connect the tablet to a monitor to use Samsung DeX, which gives it a desktop feel.

While Samsung’s Galaxy AI features aren’t groundbreaking, one handy tool is Handwriting Help, which cleans up S Pen handwriting in the Notes app, turning it into readable text with a click. The S Pen support is excellent, with good palm rejection and easy navigation between tools for drawing or writing.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus performance

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus offers impressive performance, especially with the Galaxy S Pen, which feels comfortable and responsive. Despite Samsung not using the Snapdragon chip this time (it now uses the Mediatek Dimensity 9300+), the tablet doesn’t feel slow at all. It’s powerful enough to handle everything smoothly, from design apps to social media.

Whether I was using Canva for image editing, streaming music on Spotify, or browsing Twitter (X), the tablet ran every app without lag. Canva, in particular, worked flawlessly, allowing smooth editing with no delays, even when Spotify played in the background. Editing photos in Google Photos was equally smooth, and writing in Samsung Notes felt fast and responsive, making it great for creatives or power users who need a reliable device for multitasking.

This performance makes the Tab S10 Plus ideal for users who want a tablet that can handle multiple tasks with ease, from productivity to entertainment.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus battery

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus has a huge 10,090 mAh battery that lasts all day. During my review, I rarely needed to charge it. However, with such a large battery, charging is slower—it took almost two hours to fully charge from 0%.

In my battery test, watching Avengers Endgame for three hours drained the battery to 59%, which is pretty good. Despite switching to the MediaTek chip, Tab S10 Plus doesn’t seem to use more power than earlier models.

Pros and Cons of Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus

ProsCons
📱 Big, beautiful display🤳 Hard to hold in portrait mode
🔋 Long battery life💸 Expensive for many
✒️ Comes with S Pen🔄 Not much better than Tab S9 Plus

Conclusion

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus is a premium device with fast performance, loud speakers and a stunning display. It’s powerful enough to replace a laptop and work well with a monitor.
