WWE 2K25 Game Review

WWE 2K25 has an impressive roster, featuring a mix of legendary wrestlers, current stars, and even some unique characters.

WWE 2K25 gives a new perspective on professional wrestling by fusing exciting video game concepts with athleticism. Game offers an exciting and imposing experience even though the WWE is more like a staged battle scene than a genuine competition. Showcase and MyRise modes have been improved offering new intergender matches, the beloved WWE Universe and MyGM modes, and great overall gameplay. There is a new character, The Island, who isn’t great, but this doesn’t detract from the fun.

For veterans and newcomers alike, WWE 2K25’s detailed tutorial is a standout feature. It helps players master moves and techniques, from the basics like Irish Whips to more advanced chain wrestling. This thoughtful approach makes the game accessible to everyone, even those returning after a break.

Roster of WWE 2K25 is full of famous wrestlers, ranging from contemporary stars like The Rock & “Stone Cold” Steve Austin to wrestling legends like Bret Hart. Each wrestler has multiple iterations in the game, illustrating how they have changed over time. The Rock from 1997, for instance, isn’t as powerful as he is now! Additionally, you can alter these wrestlers’ movements, stats and audience responses.

WWE 2K25 is a fun, polished game with lots of new features and a deep roster, making it an exciting pick for wrestling fans.

An Impressive Roster in WWE 2K25: A Dream Lineup for Wrestling Fans

WWE 2K25 follows the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” philosophy and offers good in-ring action that doesn’t deviate much from WWE 2K24. A standout feature is the addition of Chain Wrestling, an entertaining minigame in which you go through progressively difficult grips before achieving a finale. It’s a great touch for pro wrestling fans, though it’s mainly limited to the early stages of a match.

The new match types are also exciting. Intergender matches allow you to have both men and women fight in the same ring, which adds a fresh twist. I particularly liked seeing Rhea Ripley and Kevin Nash battle it out. Underground fights which emphasize knocking out your opponent and are similar to typical fighting games without ropes, are also a lot of fun. Furthermore, the unpredictable Bloodline Rules battles keep things interesting by adding extra variety to the gameplay.

Showcase mode shines this year, focusing on the Bloodline and the Anoa’i, Fatu, and Maivia families. Hosted by Paul Heyman, it offers plenty of backstory and archival footage. This version also improves on last year’s by featuring full entrances, excellent commentary, and in-game recreations of big moments, making everything feel more natural and immersive. Plus, you can change the outcomes of historical matches or create “what if?” scenarios, adding extra replay value.

WWE 2K25 is a must-play for wrestling aficionados because it has fantastic enhancements & intriguing new features.

Showcase Mode Improved in WWE 2K25

WWE 2K25’s Showcase mode has some great additions, like offering unique match outcomes and recreating famous moments. However, some timed objectives can be frustrating, as they rely on unpredictable in-game reversals. Completing these objectives does reward players with new wrestlers and arenas, but the difficulty varies by match.

Additionally, the mode highlights their continuous triumphs, which may make “the Bloodline” storyline seem repetitive. That makes sense, but it could have been more fun to see actual, diverse results.

Another standout mode is MyRise, where your custom character faces an invasion by NXT Superstars. The scenarios offer a fun mix of serious and lighthearted moments, though the voice acting could use improvement. The ability to re-import characters for different choices is a nice touch.

MyGM and Universe modes return, with added features like online MyGM and promos in Universe. These modes are fun for fans who like to run matches or book entire shows.

But MyFaction is still a mixed bag. Similar to Ultimate Team, it is a card-based system that may be entertaining to some, but its emphasis on microtransactions leaves a bad taste.

But the most disappointing is “The Island.” With its emphasis on PvPvE challenges and limited options beyond grinding for rewards, this game seems lifeless. It’s an obvious cash grab, and it’s worrying that this might eventually play a bigger role in the series.

Even with these issues, WWE 2K25 is still entertaining. It is a worthy installment because of its enhanced graphics, lifelike animations, and sound gaming mechanics.

Conclusion

The best wrestling game since WWE 2K24 is WWE 2K25, despite a few small problems brought on by microtransactions. Along with a ton of content, such as new MyRise and Showcase modes and intergender matches, it looks fantastic and plays smoothly. It’s like to a large buffet of wrestling; there’s much to appreciate and you could play for hours. I have more Showcase items to unlock, and Universe mode is screaming my name, so pardon me now!
