Motorola Razr 50 is great option if you want to experience foldable phones without spending too much money. It’s big improvement over previous model.
Razr 50 has much larger cover screen, making it more convenient to use without opening phone. Better camera technology produces images with greater clarity & detail. Phone is now smarter and easier to use thanks to new AI functions. In addition, performance has been improved, making phone easier to use and speedier overall, all at cheaper cost than rival foldable phones.
I got opportunity to test Razr 50 before it became officially available. I can express my initial views even though I’m not yet ready to offer my final opinion. With its bigger screen, sharper camera, smart AI capabilities and enhanced performance—all at lower cost— Razr 50 seems like a major advance.

Design and Screens
Motorola Razr 50 features larger 3.6-inch cover screen, matching functionality of last year’s top-end Razr 40 Ultra. This larger screen lets you use Motorola-designed widgets and any installed Android app directly from cover screen, making selfies easier and more convenient. Razr 50 also boasts a more capable cover screen than pricier Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5.
In addition to screen upgrade, Razr 50 has Corning’s premium Gorilla Glass Victus for protection and an IPX8 water resistance rating, allowing it to be submerged in water up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes without damage. Internal 6.9-inch pOLED display offers a great viewing experience with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 3000 nits. Redesigned hinge makes crease on inner screen less noticeable.
Razr 50 is available in three stylish colors: Koala Grey, Beach Sand, and Spritz Orange, with textured vegan leather backs that feel great to hold.
Cameras
Razr 50 features a 50MP main camera, which, despite being lower in resolution than last year’s 64MP, has larger pixels and better performance. It’s same camera as in high-end Razr 50 Ultra. Secondary camera is a 13MP ultrawide lens, providing good options for wide-angle shots. Upgraded 32MP selfie camera on foldable screen improves quality of video calls.
Performance and Features
Powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7300X chipset, Razr 50 includes 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. This chipset delivers smooth performance, although it may not be as strong in graphics as higher-end Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 in Razr 50 Ultra. Motorola has introduced AI features like Image Enhancement Engine and improved low-light photography. Later this year, Moto AI will bring more advanced features to Razr 50, such as summarizing notifications and analyzing photos.
Battery Life
Razr 50 has a 4200mAh battery, slightly larger than Razr 50 Ultra, ensuring it lasts all day. It supports 30W fast charging and 15W wireless charging, which is impressive for a more affordable foldable phone.
