At around $200, it’s aimed at budget-conscious buyers who want to experience 5G without spending a lot of money. Phone comes in different storage options, giving buyers some flexibility based on their needs.
For those who prioritize price over high-end features, Infinix Hot 50 5G offers a great deal. Many 5G phones on the market are more expensive, so this phone’s lower price makes it a strong choice for anyone looking for a budget-friendly 5G option. Infinix Hot 50 5G– Design & Build
When I first opened Infinix Hot 50 5G, I was impressed by its sleek design and attractive back panel. It comes in four colors: Sleek Black, Vibrant Blue, Sage Green and Dreamy Purple. Sage Green model I reviewed has a matte finish that looks sophisticated and feels high-quality.
Back of the phone has a camera module with three slightly raised camera lenses and LED flash. Infinix logo is at the bottom. The front has a curved display with slightly thicker edges around it.
On the right side, you’ll find the volume buttons and power button. Left side has a SIM tray. Bottom has a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB-C port, and a speaker. The top is empty. Phone is lightweight at 188 grams and slim at 7.8mm thick. It also has an IP54 rating, which means it’s resistant to splashes.
Best part is that the back doesn’t get smudged or show fingerprints easily, so it stays looking clean.
Infinix Hot 50 5G– Display
Infinix Hot 50 5G comes with a 6.7-inch HD+ Punch Hole display and a dynamic refresh rate of up to 120Hz. While it doesn’t have an AMOLED screen which is common in phones under $10,000, the HD+ IPS display still works well. It offers vibrant colors, making video watching on YouTube and other streaming services quite enjoyable. You can set the refresh rate to 60Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz, or use Auto Switch.
I mostly used the Auto Switch mode which adjusts the refresh rate automatically. When I set it to 120Hz manually, it stayed at that rate during video playback and provided a very smooth experience. Difference was clear when switching back to 60Hz or 90Hz.
Screen can get up to 500 nits bright, which is good for indoor use. However, it’s hard to see in direct sunlight, and I often had to shield it with my hand or find a shaded spot to use it comfortably. phone has a single bottom-firing speaker that performs decently.

Infinix Hot 50 5G runs on Android 14 with XOS 14. Interface is simple and easy to use with very little extra software.
It comes with helpful AI features like an AI Wallpaper Generator, AI Camera and AI Battery Optimization. There’s also a Dynamic Island that shows notifications for face unlock, background calls, charging and more.
However, main drawback is that there’s no confirmation of future operating system updates. While Infinix promises two years of security patches, having a confirmed OS update is important for users spending around $200 on a phone.
Infinix Hot 50 5G– Performance
Infinix Hot 50 5G features the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset and comes with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Over a week of use, it handled daily tasks like social media, calls, texts, videos, music and light gaming well. You can expand RAM virtually up to 16GB which helps with multitasking.
While it generally runs smoothly, there are occasional lags when switching apps. 128GB storage is enough for most users. Phone performs decently in gaming but struggles with more demanding games like BGMI and Asphalt 9, causing frame drops and overheating after extended play. It’s not the best choice for serious gamers.

Hot 50 5G has a dual rear camera setup with a 48MP main camera and a depth sensor plus 8MP front camera.
- Daylight Photos: 48MP rear camera captures good images with accurate colors in bright conditions. It’s a reliable sensor used in other well-regarded phones.
- Low-Light Photos: Camera performs well with less noise in low-light but may lose some detail. AI modes like Film Mode and Pro Mode offer extra options.
- Portrait Mode: It focuses well but lacks stabilization so keep your hands steady for clear shots.
- Night Mode: Night mode delivers decent images in darkness, though they may have some noise.
- Selfies: 8MP front camera, with LED flash, takes clear selfies in various lighting conditions including very low light. Super night mode is particularly impressive for a budget phone.
Infinix Hot 50 5G– Battery Life and Charging
5000mAh battery easily lasts a full day with heavy use. Even after a full day, 14% battery remained.
Charging is slower than some competitors, taking 2 hours and 15 minutes from 0% to 100% with the included 18W adapter. While the speed is slower, it’s reasonable given the phone’s price and battery size.
