Oppo Find N5: Full Review and Analysis
Discover why Oppo Find N5 stands out as the thinnest folding phone with impressive features, performance, and design.

Oppo Find N5 is the thinnest book-style foldable phone, and it feels amazing to use. It’s sleek, powerful, and more practical than any foldable I’ve tried before.
The design is the real highlight. Unfolded, it’s just 4.21mm thick—thinner than an iPad Pro. Even when folded, at 8.93mm, it’s almost as slim as an iPhone 16 Pro Max. The displays are huge, with a 6.62-inch cover screen and an 8.12-inch inner screen, making multitasking easy.
Performance is top-notch, thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. Battery life is solid too, with a 5,600mAh silicon-carbon cell. Compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6, this feels like a major upgrade—thinner, lighter, and more powerful.
There are some trade-offs. The camera isn’t as impressive as the Find N3, and a few software bugs pop up, but they’re minor issues.
Overall, the Find N5 feels like the future of foldables. If it were widely available, it would easily be one of the best folding phones out there.

Oppo Find N5 Price and availability
Oppo Find N5’s price is still unclear in the UK and Australia, but it’s around £1500 in Singapore. Oppo hasn’t released full details yet.
As for availability, it’s not coming to the US, and while we know it’ll be available in the UK, we’re unsure about other regions.
We’ll update this once we know the official pricing, but until then, keep reading for the full review. The final verdict and score may change once we have more info on the price.
Oppo Find N5 Design
The Oppo Find N5 is one of the best-designed foldables I’ve ever used. When I unboxed it, I was amazed at how thin it is. Folded, it’s just 8.93mm, barely thicker than an iPhone 16 Pro Max. Unfolded, it’s a crazy 4.21mm thin, even thinner than an iPad Pro. I could really see how far Oppo’s come compared to the OnePlus Open (the Find N3).
The Titanium Flexion Hinge feels solid, and it stays open between 20 and 120 degrees. It snaps shut with ease. Oppo says it lasts 10 years if you use it normally, which sounds impressive.
The crease on the inner display is barely visible. You can only see it when the light hits just right. When you’re using the phone, it’s practically invisible. The Find N5’s crease is a lot less noticeable than the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which has a much more obvious crease.
The build is solid. The frame is aluminum, the cover screen is glass, and the back has a fiber panel. The inner display is delicate, though, and it can get damaged easily if you’re not careful.
The IPX8 and IPX9 water resistance is a big plus. This is the first foldable I’ve used that can handle high-pressure water jets and submersion.
The design is just stunning. I love the Misty White and Cosmic Black colors. The white one has a marble-like finish, which adds a nice touch. The phone feels great in the hand, and the rounded edges make it easy to hold, even though opening it can be a bit tricky because it’s so thin.

Oppo Find N5 Display
The Oppo Find N5 has two stunning screens: a 6.62-inch cover display and a huge 8.12-inch inner display. Both are sharp, bright, and smooth with a 120Hz refresh rate, making everything look great.
The inner display has a 2248 x 2480 resolution, 2100-nit peak brightness, and a 9.9:9 aspect ratio, making it perfect for videos, reading, and multitasking. It’s slightly dimmer than the OnePlus Open, but still performs well indoors and outdoors.
The cover screen isn’t just a secondary display—it’s fully usable for one-handed tasks. It has a 1140 x 2616 resolution, 2450-nit peak brightness, and a 20.7:9 aspect ratio, making it wider than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 cover screen.
Switching between screens is seamless. Open the phone, and your activity continues on the big screen. Close it, and a swipe-up resumes on the cover display. Both screens also support the Oppo Pen stylus (sold separately) for extra productivity.
With these displays, the Oppo Find N5 isn’t just thin—it’s also one of the best foldable screen experiences out there.
Oppo Find N5 Software
Oppo Find N5 runs Android 15 with ColorOS 15, offering a fast, smooth and customizable experience. Oppo has optimized the UI for the folding form factor, making multitasking seamless. You can run four apps at once (three in split-screen and one floating) and the system even suggests split-screen pairings for frequently used apps.
A standout feature is O+ Connect, which lets you remotely control a Mac with real-time screen mirroring and a virtual keyboard. It expands Oppo’s file-sharing features across devices, though its practical use may vary.
Customization is excellent, with live wallpapers, fonts, and color options. However, the presence of bloatware on a premium device is disappointing. Once removed, ColorOS delivers a polished and refined experience.
Oppo Find N5 Cameras
Oppo Find N5 has a 50MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide, and 50MP telephoto with 3x zoom. The focus here is on keeping the phone slim, so the cameras aren’t as powerful as some competitors. The main camera takes good photos in daylight and low light, while the 3x telephoto offers solid zoom and depth. However, the 8MP ultra-wide camera struggles with detail.
There are also two 8MP selfie cameras, one on each display, but they lack sharpness and contrast. Thankfully, you can use the main camera for selfies with the cover screen as a viewfinder.
The folding design makes photography more flexible—you can use the inner screen as a huge viewfinder or split it for a live gallery while shooting. Video recording goes up to 4K 60fps.
Cameras are good but a step back compared to past Oppo foldables. The Find N5 prioritizes slimness over camera performance, and while it still takes nice shots, the trade-offs are noticeable.
Oppo Find N5 Performance
Oppo Find N5 is a powerful foldable with a Snapdragon 8 Elite (7-core), 16GB RAM, and 512GB storage. It handled everything I threw at it—apps, multitasking, and gaming—without breaking a sweat. Even Call of Duty Mobile ran smoothly, with only a bit of warmth during heavy use.
The 7-core chipset is slightly toned down compared to the full version, but in daily use, I didn’t notice any slowdowns. The large display, fast UI, and powerful internals make the experience seamless.
That said, I did run into some glitches. Once, the phone froze completely when switching screens, requiring a restart. Some apps also struggled with aspect ratio changes, though that’s more on developers than Oppo. Hopefully, Android 16 will improve this.
Overall, the Find N5 is fast, powerful, and built for productivity. Minor hiccups aside, it’s the first foldable I’d genuinely consider for serious work.
Oppo Find N5 Battery
With a 5,600mAh battery, the Find N5 lasts a full day without stress. That’s bigger than the batteries in the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Pixel 9 Pro Fold, and I never felt the need to charge overnight or top up before heading out.
The silicon-carbon battery tech improves efficiency, and even at 1% battery, the phone enters an ultra-low power mode to keep essentials running until you can charge.
Charging is super fast:
- 90W wired charging (full charge in about 45 minutes)
- 50W wireless charging (over Oppo’s AirVOOC)
For a foldable, battery life is impressive, though it still drains faster than a regular flagship phone. Compared to other foldables, though, this one’s a winner.

Conclusion
Oppo Find N5 feels like the future of foldable phones. It’s the thinnest book-style foldable yet, making it surprisingly pocketable and easy to use. The large displays, powerful hardware, and improved battery bring it closer than ever to traditional flagship phones.
That said, the cameras are a step down, and I did run into a few software bugs. But with top-tier performance, it’s easily one of the fastest foldables available—a true engineering feat.
Final thoughts may change once UK pricing is confirmed, but so far, this is the foldable to beat.
