nubia RedMagic 10 Air review
Experience smooth gaming with the nubia RedMagic 10 Air – powerful performance, shoulder triggers, and advanced cooling.

With the RedMagic 10 Air, RedMagic is keeping up with the trend of smartphones getting thinner in 2025. Compared to its previous versions, this device is 10% lighter and narrower than the RedMagic 10 Pro. Even though it still works fine, it lacks the power of the other RedMagic models that use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip from the previous year.
In this review, we’ll look at what makes the RedMagic 10 Air stand out, its specs, and how it compares to other models in terms of gaming performance and design. Let’s see if the thinner design affects its overall performance.

RedMagic 10 Air Design: Slim, Stylish and Built for Gamers
RedMagic 10 Air is a sleek, slim device, measuring 164.3 x 76.7 x 7.85mm and weighing 205 grams, making it 10% thinner and lighter than the RedMagic 10 Pro.
Unlike the Pro and Pro+ models, the Air features slightly protruding cameras, arranged vertically, and a more minimalist design with just a logo and “REDMAGIC” on its frosted back. For a classier look, you can choose the Shadow Black or Frost Blade White colors. However, the Flame Orange variant is bolder, with a bright orange finish and more logos and shapes.
The button layout is unique, with the power and volume buttons slightly lowered to make room for two capacitive triggers on the right side, perfect for gaming. The left side has the Magic key which can be mapped to various actions, adding convenience.
The bottom of the phone has a dual Nano-SIM card tray, Type-C port, main speaker and microphone. Front has a large 6.8-inch display with slightly rounded edges. The selfie camera is under the display and is hard to see but visible in low light. The fingerprint reader works quickly and accurately.
RedMagic also included an IR blaster on the top frame, a handy feature for controlling other devices. The back houses a small customizable RGB ring that doubles as a camera flash.
Despite its lack of an active cooling fan, the RedMagic 10 Air still maintains a premium feel, with aviation aluminum and glass construction, offering an IP54 protection rating. While it doesn’t have the top-tier specs of the Pro models, the Air impresses with its elegant design and solid performance.
RedMagic 10 Air: Screen, Battery, Charging & Audio Review
RedMagic 10 Air has a big 6.8-inch AMOLED screen. It’s mostly flat and easy to see even in bright sunlight. RedMagic says it can reach 1600 nits of brightness, but in real use, it hits around 1023 nits when it’s very bright outside. That’s still good for using the phone outdoors. It doesn’t support HDR videos officially, but you can still watch HD content on Netflix and YouTube.
You can set the screen to refresh at 60Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz, or 144Hz. There’s also an auto mode that switches between 60Hz and 120Hz depending on what you’re doing. If you want very smooth scrolling or gameplay, you can set it to 144Hz. The touch response is also really fast, which is great for gaming.
The phone has a 6000mAh battery, which is smaller than the Pro version but still lasts a long time. It does well for daily use, though web browsing drains the battery a bit faster than expected.
It comes with an 80W charger in the box. It charges 42% in just 15 minutes and goes up to 74% in 30 minutes. A full charge takes only 45 minutes, which is pretty fast.
The RedMagic 10 Air has two speakers—one at the bottom and one at the top. The sound is good, with strong bass and clear audio. It supports Snapdragon Sound and DTS-X Ultra. It’s not super loud, and at full volume, the sound can get a bit harsh, so it’s better to keep the volume at a medium level.
RedMagic 10 Air: Software and performance Review
RedMagic 10 Air runs on RedMagic OS 10 with Android 15. It will get one update to Android 16 and three years of security patches.
The software is similar to the RedMagic 9S Pro, with a few new AI features like photo search and real-time translation.
The Gamespace feature improves your gaming experience by showing stats like CPU, GPU and FPS. It lets you adjust performance and screen settings for a smoother game.
There are helpful tools like X Gravity for controllers, crosshairs for shooting games, and AI Trigger to auto-reload your weapon. The shoulder triggers are perfect for FPS and racing games and you can also use tilt gestures for extra control.
New color filters help you see enemies better in some games. You can connect external devices like joysticks and keyboards, but the Air doesn’t support video output.
The phone uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which is powerful but not the latest. It has options for 12GB RAM with 256GB storage or 16GB RAM with 512GB storage.
In performance tests, the RedMagic 10 Air works well for gaming. It stays cool with a vapor chamber and liquid metal during long gaming sessions.
RedMagic 10 Air offers great gaming performance and features.
RedMagic 10 Air: Camera Review
RedMagic 10 Air has two 50MP cameras. While gaming phones aren’t usually known for their cameras, these are pretty good.
The main 50MP camera has Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) for clearer photos. The second 50MP camera is an ultrawide, which can also take close-up shots.
The front camera is 16MP and works fine, but it’s not exceptional.
The camera app is easy to use and has lots of options. It works well, and the translations are mostly accurate.
In bright light, the main camera takes sharp and detailed photos with good colors. Portrait shots look nice with a blurred background. Using the 50MP mode doesn’t always show a big difference from regular shots, but it adds more detail.
Since there’s no zoom lens, the camera uses digital zoom for up to 2x. The quality stays decent but can get a bit soft.
The ultrawide camera does well too, giving clear and colorful shots, but the edges could be sharper. It’s also good for close-up shots because it focuses well.
The 16MP selfie camera is okay but not great. Make sure to avoid glare, as it can affect the quality.
In low light, the main camera still takes good pictures with decent detail, though it can look a bit too sharp. The ultrawide camera also performs decently in low light, with good contrast. The selfie camera doesn’t do well in low light and lacks detail.
For video, both cameras can record in 8K at 30fps or 4K at 60fps. This is impressive for an ultrawide camera. Videos are clear and well-compressed.

Pros and Cons of nubia RedMagic 10 Air
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Stylish design with flat, angular look. | No cooling fan, only IP54 protection. |
Large, fast 144Hz OLED display, hidden selfie cam. | Display is dimmer than the Pro model, no HDR. |
Good battery life and fast charging. | Software has awkward English translations. |
Great price for performance, even with an old chip. | No eSIM support. |
Plenty of gaming features, like pressure-sensitive triggers. | Only 1 Android OS update promised. |
Conclusion
RedMagic 10 Air has a great design, a good display with an under-display selfie camera, strong performance, long battery life, fast charging, and useful gaming features. It also has a decent camera for a gaming phone and is affordable.
It’s missing some features from the RedMagic 10 Pro, like the internal fan, headphone jack, and DisplayPort output. The battery is smaller, the screen isn’t as bright, and it uses last year’s chip with basic water resistance. But these aren’t big issues for most users.
RedMagic 10 Air is a great choice for anyone who wants a stylish phone with good gaming features.
