Discover the Honor Magic 6 RSR Porsche: a perfect blend of luxury design and advanced technology in a top-tier smartphone.
Honor Magic6 RSR Porsche was launched internationally in late February, now featuring a sleek new design by Porsche Design. We thoroughly tested Magic 6 Pro when it first came out and if the only change was its appearance, there wouldn’t be much to discuss. Luckily, that’s not the case, as Magic6 RSR has plenty of upgrades.
In terms of photography, Honor Magic6 RSR Porsche comes with a LiDAR autofocus system and improved dynamic range on the main sensor. It also features the first dual-layer tandem OLED display on a smartphone, along with an impressive 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
Porsche Design products are known to be pricey but is Magic6 RSR worth it? After using it for over a week, here’s what I found out.

Porsche Design Honor Magic 6 RSR Pricing and Availability
Honor launched Magic 6 RSR Porsche Design on March 18 in China, and it was released in the U.K. on May 2. It will soon be available in the Middle East, Malaysia, and Germany.
Magic 6 RSR Porsche comes with 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, priced at £1,599 ($2,004) in the U.K., which is higher than its China price of 9,999 RMB ($1,380). It’s also more expensive than the standard Magic 6 Pro which costs £1,099 ($1,378) in the U.K. However, Honor is currently offering a discount of £250 ($313), reducing price to £849 ($1,064). Standard version includes 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
Porsche Design Honor Magic 6 RSR Design
Design is what truly sets Porsche Design Honor Magic 6 RSR apart. While standard Magic 6 Pro already has an impressive “pillow camera island,” Magic 6 RSR takes it further with a striking new look. Camera module features Porsche’s signature hexagonal design, symbolizing precision and high performance. Module is made of titanium, which contrasts beautifully with the glass back.
Phone comes in two colors: Agate Grey and Frozen Berry. Although grey option is sleek, Frozen Berry variant is bold and attention-grabbing. Honor claims this color represents “boldness and fearlessness,” and it certainly stands out. Bold shade even extends to the mid-frame for a seamless look.
However, glossy glass back is a bit of a downside, as it tends to attract fingerprints. While standard Magic 6 Pro’s vegan leather back offers a more comfortable grip, Magic 6 RSR’s glossy texture continues along sides, making phone harder to hold without smudging. Honor includes a leather case with Porsche Design branding which not only improves the grip but also enhances the phone’s overall feel.
One unique design element is the flyline on back which creates a wedge shape, making Magic 6 RSR instantly recognizable. Porsche Design branding is also prominently featured.
Though phone is a bit heavy at 237g, it’s well-balanced and comfortable to hold thanks to its curvy profile. It also offers IP68 water and dust resistance, essential for a high-end device. In-screen fingerprint sensor is slightly lower on the screen but still accessible.
Porsche Design Honor Magic 6 RSR Hardware and Screen
Porsche Design Honor Magic 6 RSR has similar hardware to standard Magic 6 Pro. It features 6.8-inch OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and a brightness of up to 5,000 nits in HDR. Display is bright, colorful and customizable and its dual-layer OLED technology helps it last longer.
While 2800 x 1200 resolution isn’t as high as some other premium phones, it works well for everyday tasks. Honor uses a durable NanoCrystal Shield instead of Gorilla Glass and phone survived a drop without damage. Glossy back does pick up fingerprints easily, so a case is recommended.
Phone has 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage which is more than enough for storing videos and running apps smoothly. Powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, it handles gaming and daily use with no problems and there’s no overheating.
One downside is the weak haptic feedback, which is barely noticeable while using gestures or navigating the interface.
Key Specs:
- Display: 6.8-inch OLED, 120Hz, HDR10+
- Processor: Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
- RAM: 24GB
- Storage: 1TB
- Battery: 5600mAh, fast charging
- Cameras: 50MP main, 50MP wide-angle, 180MP telephoto, 50MP front
- Water Resistance: IP68
Porsche Design Honor Magic 6 RSR Battery
Porsche Design Magic 6 RSR comes with a 5600mAh battery, same as regular model and uses silicon-carbon technology to extend battery life. It supports 80W fast charging, 66W wireless charging and 5W reverse charging with charger included in box.
However, unlike regular Magic 6 Pro, RSR version has significant battery drain when idle, lasting only a day with regular use. After heavy use, the battery dropped to 7% by the end of the day. If not charged overnight, the phone may drain completely by morning due to the high idle power consumption which isn’t typical for most phones with similar battery sizes.
While it lasts a day, you’ll need to recharge it every night to avoid running out of power.
Porsche Design Honor Magic 6 RSR Cameras
Magic 6 RSR has same camera setup as standard Magic 6 Pro, featuring a 50MP main camera with a variable f/1.4-2.0 aperture and a large 1/1.3-inch sensor. While not as big as the sensors on some other flagship phones, it still captures excellent photos and videos.
In addition to the main camera, there’s a 50MP wide-angle lens and a 180MP telephoto lens with 2.5x optical zoom. Camera interface is user-friendly, with many modes and settings. Magic 6 RSR is particularly good at capturing fast-moving objects like when I took photos of my baby.
Phone offers three AI-assisted styles: Natural, Vibrant and Authentic. It performs well in daylight and low-light conditions, producing detailed images with vibrant colors. While other phones like Xiaomi 14 Ultra might have a slight edge in low light, Magic 6 RSR holds its own.
Portrait shots look great, with adjustable bokeh and focal lengths. However, beauty mode is enabled by default and can be too aggressive, so it’s best to turn it off for more natural results.
Front camera, however, doesn’t perform as well as the rear cameras, with some issues in color balance. Overall, Magic 6 RSR still offers one of the best camera systems available today.
Porsche Design Honor Magic 6 RSR Software
Magic 6 RSR runs MagicOS 8.0, based on Android 14, with AI features like Magic Portal. However, I used Chinese version, so I couldn’t test the global features.
MagicOS 8.0 brings useful improvements but some issues remain. For example: you can’t access app info by long-pressing an app; instead, you have to go into the settings. The notification system also feels outdated, with toggles on one side and notifications on the other.
The interface is smooth and customizable and Honor promises four platform updates, though they are slow to release them.
