Poco F6 Pro Review: A Powerful Smartphone at an Affordable Price

Poco F6 Pro offers powerful performance with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 120W fast charging, and a stunning 6.67" AMOLED display.

Poco F6 Pro continues Poco’s commitment to delivering high value for money, much like its predecessor, the Poco F5 Pro. Positioned as the “flagship” in Poco’s lineup, it brings a premium experience with some compromises, like using last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. Despite this, the F6 Pro offers impressive performance and features at a competitive price, making it a strong contender in the “flagship killer” category.

A quick note: Poco F6 Pro is essentially a rebranded Xiaomi Redmi K70, so if you encounter that name, it’s the same device. In this review, weโ€™ll refer to it as the Poco F6 Pro, and all findings apply to both versions.

With its Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, a stunning 6.67-inch AMOLED display, and a solid camera setup, the Poco F6 Pro is a device that punches well above its weight. Letโ€™s dive into the details of this impressive phone.

Poco F6 Pro Premium Design with a Comfortable Grip

The Poco F6 Pro has a sleek design, as it is a rebranded Xiaomi Redmi K70. The back features a smooth, quad-curved glass panel with a soft, velvety texture and a stylish marble-like pattern in black or white. It also resists smudges well.

The aluminum frame has a matte finish and rounded edges, making the phone comfortable to hold. The large rectangular camera module adds a distinct look.

The power and volume buttons are well-placed and responsive. While thereโ€™s no notification LED or 3.5mm headphone jack, the phone does include an IR blaster.

On the front, the 6.67-inch flat AMOLED display has slim bezels and a small punch-hole for the selfie camera. The under-display fingerprint sensor is fast and accurate, though screen protectors may affect its performance.

The build quality is solid, with Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front. However, the phone only has an IP54 rating, offering limited dust and splash resistance.

Poco F6 Pro: Display, Battery, Audio and Connectivity

Poco F6 Pro has a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a sharp 3200 x 1440 pixel resolution. It offers bright colors and can reach a peak brightness of 1,203 nits, making it easy to use outdoors. The display also has a feature that keeps it responsive even when wet.

The phone has a 120Hz refresh rate, which adjusts automatically based on your use. It offers three modes: 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz, but the 90Hz mode wasn’t used in testing. The phone also supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision for great media playback.

With a 5,000 mAh battery, the Poco F6 Pro lasts about 10 and a half hours on average. It charges super fast with its 120W HyperCharge, going from 0 to 100% in just 27 minutes.

The stereo speakers are loud and clear, with Dolby Atmos support for better sound. You can customize the sound with an equalizer.

The Poco F6 Pro supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3. It has GPS, but no 3.5mm headphone jack or FM radio. The Type-C port is limited to USB 2.0 speeds. It also includes a range of sensors but doesn’t have a barometer.

Poco F6 Pro Software and Performance

Poco F6 Pro runs on Xiaomiโ€™s HyperOS, based on Android 14. It looks and feels similar to MIUI but with a cleaner design and some improvements. The phone will receive three years of major updates and four years of security patches.

HyperOS includes several AI features, such as AI Portraits for realistic photos, AI Expansion to extend images, and AI Magic Erase Pro to remove unwanted objects. It also has AI Album Search for quick photo searches and AI Subtitles for real-time transcription and translation. However, availability may vary by region.

The Poco F6 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, delivering top-tier performance. It comes with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage in three configurations: 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, and 16GB/1TB. There is no expandable storage.

Benchmark tests show the Poco F6 Pro performs exceptionally well, outpacing many competitors. The phone also includes Xiaomiโ€™s LiquidCool 4.0 technology with an advanced vapor chamber to keep temperatures in check, though it can get warm during intensive use.

Poco F6 Pro Camera

Poco F6 Pro has a 50MP main camera, 8MP ultrawide, and 2MP macro. The main camera is better in low light. The ultrawide and macro cameras are the same as before.

For selfies, it has a 16MP front camera, which is lower than the 20MP on the F6. The F6 Pro’s selfie camera has a standard lens, while the F6 has a wider one.

In daylight, the main camera takes clear and colorful photos. The ultrawide camera is good but struggles with close-up shots. The macro camera is not very useful.

Selfies look natural but lack sharp details. In low light, the main camera takes bright and clear photos, even without Night mode. The ultrawide camera works okay in low light but is not as sharp.
