Xiaomi is targeting the mid-range market with its new smartphone Xiaomi 14T. This device comes packed with features that you typically find in high-end flagship phones.
One of standout aspects of Xiaomi 14T is its sleek design which includes uniform slim bezels all around device. This not only makes it look modern and stylish but also enhances the overall user experience. Display is impressive, boasting a 1.5K resolution and a smooth 144Hz refresh rate making everything from gaming to scrolling feel fluid and responsive.
Camera system is another highlight, featuring three Leica-branded lenses. One of these lenses is a telephoto lens which is quite rare for mid-range smartphones. This setup should allow for stunning photography enabling users to capture beautiful images in various conditions.
Under the hood, Xiaomi 14T is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra, promising plenty of processing power for multitasking, gaming, and running demanding applications.
Although I haven’t formed my final opinion yet, I had the chance to try out Xiaomi 14T at a pre-launch event and Iβm excited to share my initial impressions. Overall, it seems like strong contender in the mid-range smartphone market offering premium features at more affordable price.

Design and Screen
- Industrial Design: Xiaomi 14T has a flat-edge industrial design with rounded corners, making it look modern and sleek. Regular Xiaomi 14T has a completely flat frosted glass back, while 14T Pro has a slightly curved back, giving a more comfortable grip.
- 6.67-inch AMOLED Screen: Both models feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with high-end technology. The screen offers 1.5K resolution, 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 4000 nits. The slim bezels around all four edges give it a more premium feel compared to other mid-range phones.
- Titan Design: Xiaomi calls the new design a “Titan design,” available in Titan Grey, Titan Blue and Titan Black. There’s also a Lemon Green version with a 100% recycled PU leather back.
- Durability: Phone is built with a strengthened aluminium alloy frame which Xiaomi claims is 116% stronger than last year’s model. It also has full IP68 water and dust resistance, protecting it in up to 2 meters of water for 30 minutes.

- Triple Camera Setup: Xiaomi 14T features Leica-co-developed camera system with three lenses 50MP main camera, 50MP telephoto lens and 12MP ultrawide camera. This setup provides versatility in capturing different types of photos.
- Advanced Sensors: Main camera has 1/1.31-inch Light Fusion 900 sensor, designed to improve light intake by 32%. This means better performance in low-light photography, enhanced by wide f/1.6 aperture.
- AI-Powered Processing: Xiaomi is using AI to enhance photos with four AI models (FusionLM, ToneLM, ColorLM and PortraitLM) improving camera processing. Phone also supports 8K video recording and advanced features like 10-bit LOG recording and Master Mode for professional-grade photography and videography.

- Battery Life: It comes with 5000mAh battery and supports 67W fast charging, giving you a full charge in 45 minutes. Pro model charges even faster with 120W wired and 50W wireless charging.
- AI Features: Phone runs Xiaomiβs new HyperOS based on Android 14. It includes AI-driven features like live translation for conversations, phone calls and online meetings. There’s also AI video editor that can create social media-ready videos based on your preferences.
