Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro Review

Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro offers flagship performance, a bright AMOLED display, fast charging, and great value for gaming at an affordable price.

Xiaomi doesnโ€™t promote Poco phones as much as its Redmi series, but the Poco X7 Pro really deserves more attention. It came out in early 2025 and costs much less than an iPhone, while still offering great features.

The Poco X7 Pro feels premium without the high price. Itโ€™s fast, has lots of memory and storage, and works well for gaming and daily tasks. The screen is bright and colorful, and the big 6,000mAh battery lasts for days.

Some versions even have a stylish leather-like back. The camera is just okay, and there are many pre-installed apps, but overall, the Poco X7 Pro is a great choice if you want a powerful and affordable phone.

Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro Price and Availability Review

Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro starts at $299 / ยฃ309 (around AU$480). It was released in January 2025 and is now available to buy.

There are a few versions based on RAM and storage. The basic model has 8GB RAM and 256GB storage for $299 / ยฃ309. A stronger version with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage costs about $239 (around ยฃ320 / AU$450). The top model I tested costs $369 / ยฃ349 (around AU$600). In the US, thereโ€™s also an Iron Man Edition for an extra $30.

You can buy the Poco X7 Pro in many regions, including on Amazon in the US.

In my testing, I found it to be a good phone for its price. Itโ€™s affordable and performs well.

The regular Poco X7 is a bit cheaper, starting at $314 / ยฃ249, but it has lower specs.

Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro Design: Stylish Looks with Practical Build Review

The Poco X7 Pro comes in black, green, and a sporty yellow. The black and green phones have plastic frames. The yellow one feels special because it has a leather-like back that gives a better grip. If you like simple, black or green is better.

The phone is medium-sized but may feel big if you have small hands. It weighs about 195g and is easy to carry. The yellow one is just a little heavier, but you wonโ€™t really notice.

The sides are flat, so the phone can stand up on its own. The power and volume buttons are on the right side, and the charging port is at the bottom. If your hands are small, the volume buttons might be a little hard to reach.

The phone is also dustproof and water-resistant, which is great. Overall, it feels strong and looks nice!

Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro Display: Bright, Smooth, and Durable Review

Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro has a 6.67-inch screen, which feels big but still easy to use.

The screen is sharp with a resolution of 1220 x 2712 pixels, so everything looks clear. It also gets very bright, up to 3200 nits, which makes it easy to see even outside.

Since it uses an AMOLED display, the colors are bright and nice for watching videos or playing games. The 120Hz refresh rate makes scrolling and animations feel smooth.

The screen is also tough, thanks to Gorilla Glass 7i. Even after some drops, mine stayed in good shape.

Poco X7 Proโ€™s screen is bright, clear, and smooth โ€” one of the best things about this phone!

Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro Camera: Features, Quality and AI Tools Review

Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro comes with a 50MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide camera, and 20MP front camera for selfies. The cameras work well for daily photos but donโ€™t give very colorful or exciting results.

The main camera takes clear pictures, but the colors look a bit dull, especially greens. When you zoom in, the phone changes the colors, which sometimes makes the photos look worse.

Be careful when taking photos sideways โ€” your fingers might block the camera by mistake.

The ultra-wide camera is not very good. The photos lose details and look a bit faded, especially in darker areas.

For videos, you can record in 4K at 60fps. There is also a Director mode to adjust settings like brightness and color, but itโ€™s more of a bonus feature.

Selfies are clear but could be more colorful. Portrait mode is okay but sometimes struggles with hair edges.

The phone also includes extra modes like night mode, slow motion, document scanning, and Pro mode for manual control. Some AI camera features, like removing unwanted objects, will come in a future update around March 2025.

Poco X7 Pro cameras are decent for daily use but not the best if you want stunning photos.

Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro Software Review

Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro runs on Android 15 with HyperOS 2. Xiaomi offers 3 years of Android updates and 4 years of security updates, which is great for keeping your phone safe and up to date.

One downside is the amount of pre-installed apps. The phone comes with many apps you might not need, like games, Poco apps, AliExpress, and WPS Office. You may want to delete these apps to clean up your phone.

The software is easy to use and lets you customize many things. You can change the fonts, app icons, always-on display, and how notifications look. You can also choose where new apps appear on your phone.

There are some AI tools too. The Notes app can translate and summarize, the Recorder app can make transcripts, and videos can get AI subtitles. But these features might not be available in all regions, and they were missing on my test phone.

Poco X7 Pro has good software with lots of custom options but you might want to remove the extra apps first.

Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro Performance and Audio Review

Poco X7 Pro comes with the powerful MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultra chipset. Itโ€™s available in two versions: 8GB RAM with 256GB storage or 12GB RAM with 512GB storage. I tested the 12/512GB model, and it felt as fast as some flagship phones that cost much more.

Gaming on this phone is excellent. It runs both online and heavy single-player games smoothly, with no lag or overheating. If youโ€™re a mobile gamer, the Poco X7 Pro is a great choice.

In Geekbench 6 tests, it scored around 6,100 in multi-core performance, putting it close to top phones of 2024 and even early 2025.

For audio, the phone has stereo speakers that sound good for casual use. However, thereโ€™s no 3.5mm headphone jack, so youโ€™ll need an adapter or use Bluetooth 5.4 for wireless listening.

Poco X7 Pro offers powerful performance and decent audio, making it a great option for gaming and everyday use.

Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro Battery Life Review

The Poco X7 Pro has a big 6,000mAh battery. It lasts about two days, even if you use your phone a lot. If you use it less, it can easily last two full days without charging.

Charging is very fast with 90W. It doesnโ€™t have wireless charging, but with this speed, itโ€™s not a problem. In my test, it charged from around 10-20% to full in about 30 minutes.

Poco X7 Pro has great battery life and charges quickly, so you wonโ€™t worry about running out of power.

Pros and Cons of Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro

โœ… ProsโŒ Cons

Conclusion

Poco X7 Pro does everything you expect from an affordable phone, and even more. Itโ€™s better for gaming, has a brighter and sharper display, and a bigger battery than other phones at this price. The cameras arenโ€™t the best and some software features will come later, but overall, itโ€™s a great phone for a low price.
