Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G Global Edition Design, build quality and handling
Design of the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G isn’t very striking. The camera island is noticeable but not unique, with smooth curves that don’t stand out much, which we like.
The back has a lot of text, which we don’t love, but at least it’s symmetrical. The phone feels comfortable to hold thanks to its curved sides.
It comes with either a plastic back or eco-leather. The plastic version has a matte finish that feels slightly silky and doesn’t attract dirt or fingerprints. The leather version is slightly thicker.
Phone feels solid and sturdy, with no flex, despite having a plastic frame. It also has an IP68 or IP69K rating for water and dust resistance in some regions.
Front is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2, a nice upgrade. The plastic frame looks like brushed metal, and the buttons are small but easy to use with good feedback.
On the left side, thereโs nothing, while the top and bottom are more crowded with symmetrical speakers and an IR blaster. The 3.5mm audio jack is gone this year.
The display has minimal bezels, and the in-display fingerprint reader is quick and accurate.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G Global Edition Display, battery life, charging speed and speaker
Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G features a huge, crisp 6.67-inch display with a resolution of 1220 x 2712 pixels. It has 12-bit color, a 120Hz refresh rate and supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. Display reaches a peak brightness of 1,138 nits in sunlight mode.
It supports refresh rates of 60Hz, 90Hz and 120Hz but doesn’t have a dynamic refresh rate. The adaptive refresh rate switches to 60Hz for static content and some apps like Netflix stream in Full HD with HDR support.
Phone’s 5,110 mAh battery provides good performance, lasting 11:39 hours of vigorous use. It supports 45W rapid charging which can reach 63% in 30 minutes and fully charge in roughly an hour.
Stereo speakers sound clear, with Dolby Atmos for better audio quality, though it’s slightly quieter than its predecessor. Phone also supports 5G connectivity, dual SIM, GPS, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC in some regions, and has an IR blaster. There’s no FM radio or 3.5mm audio jack. The Type-C port supports USB 2.0 and USB OTG.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G Global Edition Software and performance
Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G runs Xiaomi’s HyperOS 1.02 on Android 14, while the Poco X7 Pro uses HyperOS 2 based on Android 15. We expect the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G to receive HyperOS 2 soon. The software feels familiar to MIUI users but appears more polished with some optimizations.
Xiaomi offers at least three years of major updates and one extra year of security patches. Features across Redmi and Poco devices are mostly similar but Poco devices come with an app drawer by default, and you can lock the device with a double-tap on an empty home screen.
Google Gemini is available, offering AI assistance if needed.
Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra processor and a Mali-G615 MC2 GPU. It comes in four storage configurations: 128GB with 8GB RAM, 256GB with 8GB RAM, 256GB with 12GB RAM and 512GB with 12GB RAM. Phone performs well for its pricing, comparable to Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 7s Gen 2.
Benchmark tests show that the device performs well, especially on AnTuTu and 3DMark. It also has superior thermal management, which ensures consistent performance without overheating.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G Global Edition Camera, photo and video quality
Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G has a versatile triple-camera system including a 200MP primary camera. While the technology is great, there are certain restrictions, notably the absence of autofocus on the ultrawide and selfie cameras. European model comes with a 200MP main camera, while other regions have a 50MP version.
Main camera is a 200MP Samsung sensor, paired with an 8MP ultrawide camera from Sony and a 2MP macro camera. Front camera is 20MP.
In daylight, main camera produces good photos with plenty of detail and natural colors but thereโs some noise when zooming in. The ultrawide camera’s quality is unimpressive, with oversaturated colors and mediocre contrast. The macro camera is useful but not outstanding, and the selfie camera captures soft characteristics.
At night, the primary camera works admirably, with exceptional detail and color saturation.

Conclusion
Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G is a good phone with a few faults. It’s durable and weatherproof. It lacks an SD card port and a 3.5mm jack, but the speakers are strong and the screen is clear.
It boasts a capable processor, a long battery life, and a competent camera. Battery lasts all day and charges quickly. However, it comes with Android 14, whilst other models feature Android 15.
There are numerous variations of phone which can be confusing, but it remains a terrific option, and the Poco X7 could be a viable alternative.
