The Reno13 is compact, powerful, and long-lasting, but lacks expandable storage.

Oppo Reno13 Design and build
Oppo Reno13 has a flat design, unlike older models with curved edges. This gives it a modern look but makes it less comfortable to hold.
It has a premium aluminum frame and a matte-textured glass back. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i for durability.
The phone is thin (7.2mm) and light (181g), but itโs slippery. It comes in Plume White and Luminous Blue, with the white version having a unique pattern.
Better dust and water protection is indicated by an IP68 or IP69 rating. The fingerprint sensor is positioned a little low, but the buttons are easily accessible.
Reno13 looks premium, but its sharp edges and slippery feel might not suit everyone.
Oppo Reno13 Display, battery life, charging speed, speakers
Oppo Reno13 has a 6.59-inch OLED display with a 1256 x 2760 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. It reaches 1,204 nits brightness making it easy to use outdoors.
The screen has three refresh rate modes: High (120Hz always), Standard (60Hz always), and Auto (switches between 60Hz and 120Hz). Some apps, like Chrome, stay at 60Hz even in Auto mode.
The 5,600mAh battery lasts a long time, with 16 hours and 50 minutes of active use. It supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging, reaching 74% in 30 minutes. Battery-saving options help extend its lifespan.
The stereo speakers are loud (-24.7 LUFS) and have a strong bass. The bottom speaker is louder than the top one. The sound is good, but sometimes bass overpowers vocals and highs.
Oppo Reno13 Software and performance
ColorOS 15, based on Android 15, comes pre-installed on the Oppo Reno13. It offers 3 major OS updates and 4 years of security patches.
The design is similar to ColorOS 14, with small updates to the quick settings and icons. Performance is improved with faster animations, better touch response, and more stability.
AI features include AI Summary (condenses text), AI Speak (reads text aloud), and AI Writer (generates text). These tools are in the Smart Sidebar.
The AI Studio app creates photorealistic images from your photos using cloud-based AI. The Gallery app offers AI editing tools like AI Eraser and AI Unblur.
Powered by the Dimensity 8350 SoC, the Reno13 delivers solid performance with UFS 3.1 storage. While it’s an improvement over its predecessor, rivals like the Xiaomi 14T Pro and Galaxy S24 FE offer stronger performance. The phone maintains stable speeds, though the GPU slows down under heavy load.
Oppo Reno13 Camera
Oppo Reno13 has a triple-camera setup with a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP depth sensor (replacing the macro camera). The front camera is also 50MP with autofocus.
The main camera takes sharp, detailed photos with good dynamic range, but the colors are a bit muted. Portrait shots are okay, but the colors are still not very vibrant. The 2x zoom is fine for casual use, though not as sharp as dedicated zoom cameras.
The ultrawide camera performs well with vibrant colors, but itโs not as sharp as the main camera.
Selfies are great with natural colors and clear details, thanks to autofocus.
In low light, the main camera does a good job, with little noise and good detail, but the 2x zoom loses some sharpness. The ultrawide camera struggles at night with less sharpness and color saturation.
For video, the Reno13 records 4K at 60fps with the main and front cameras, and 1080p at 30fps with the ultrawide. It also has electronic stabilization for smooth footage, with a special Ultra Steady mode for action shots at 1080p.

Conclusion
Oppo Reno13 has a nice design, fast charging, long battery life, and great selfies, all in a compact 6.59-inch size.
However, some competitors offer better cameras and brighter displays. While the Reno13 has potential, it feels a bit expensive for now. As the price drops, it will become a better choice, but right now, there are stronger options available.
