Vivo T3 Ultra Design and Display

Vivo T3 Ultra has a design that looks like it belongs in V series, especially V40 models. Like those phones, it has a circular camera setup on the back, housed in an oblong module, with Aura Light ring below it. The design is minimalistic, giving it a premium look and feel. In fact, aside from ZEISS branding missing on the camera, you’d hardly notice the difference between V40 and T3 Ultra. The phone is available in two appealing colors: Lunar Grey and Frost Green. It also has dual stereo speakers, which is a bonus if you like watching videos without using headphones.

At just 5,500mAh, T3 Ultra is the slimmest battery smartphone in its class, making it comfortable to hold and easy to use with one hand. Power and volume buttons are easy to reach, though you might accidentally cover bottom speaker while holding the phone. But overall, design is practical and feels good in hand.

T3 Ultra features a 6.78-inch 3D Curved AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution (1,260×2,800 pixels), a 120Hz refresh rate, and 4,500 nits peak brightness, making it easy to see the screen even under direct sunlight. While Realme GT 6T has a slightly brighter screen at 6,000 nits, T3 Ultra’s display still delivers vibrant colors, deep blacks, and smooth scrolling.

However, I personally prefer flat displays. While the curved screen does offer immersive front view, the off-angle viewing isn’t ideal. But if you’re used to curved screens, you’ll likely find this one enjoyable too.

Vivo T3 Ultra Cameras

Vivo T3 Ultra has good cameras, especially for its price. It has a 50MP main camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. There’s also a special light to help with low-light photos and flicker sensor to reduce flickering in videos.

For selfies- phone has 50MP front camera with AI to make your face look natural. Portrait mode is nice but sometimes it smooths the skin too much. Videos indoors showed some flickering, despite the flicker sensor.

Here’s how T3 Ultra compares to Realme GT 6T and Honor 200:

Daylight Photos
T3 Ultra takes good photos but Realme GT 6T captures more detail and better colors. T3 Ultra still performs better than Honor 200 which lost some details.

Portrait Photos
T3 Ultra did better than the Realme GT 6T with clearer skin tones and better background blur. Honor 200 struggled to blur the background properly.

Night Photos
T3 Ultra made night photos brighter but lost some color accuracy. Realme GT 6T was more accurate with colors but missed some darker details. Honor 200 struggled with bright lights and missed details in the dark.

Selfies
T3 Ultra takes great selfies with more detail than Realme GT 6T. While Honor 200 takes decent selfies, T3 Ultra handles background details better.

Overall, Vivo T3 Ultra has strong cameras, especially for portraits and selfies, with a few small issues like flickering in videos.

Vivo T3 Ultra Performance and Software

Vivo T3 Ultra is a major upgrade in terms of performance. It has the powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chip which is faster than the one in V40. This chip helps phone run smoothly and handle tough tasks easily.

T3 Ultra also has a strong graphics processor and comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. You can even use the Extended RAM feature to boost the RAM up to 24GB if needed.

We tested T3 Ultra against Realme GT 6T and Honor 200. It scored well on benchmarks, but the Realme GT 6T did a bit better, while the Honor 200 was less powerful. T3 Ultra did better in CPU tests but showed some performance drop under heavy stress.

Vivo T3 Ultra Software

Vivo T3 Ultra runs on Android 14 with Vivo’s FunTouchOS 14. It comes with 47 pre-installed apps, but phone is easy to use and not too cluttered. Interface is smooth and the phone’s 120Hz refresh rate makes everything feel fast.

Unlike some other brands, Vivo hasn’t added many AI features to this phone. There are a few basic AI tools but Vivo found that people in this price range don’t use many AI features.

Overall, Vivo T3 Ultra has strong performance and a clean, smooth software experience, with few AI features.

Vivo T3 Ultra Battery Life and Charging Speeds

Vivo T3 Ultra has a 5,500mAh battery which provides good battery life for daily use. Most days, it lasted through the day, but on some days, I needed to charge it by the evening.

In our battery test, Vivo T3 Ultra lasted for 12 hours and 14 minutes. This is a bit less than some other phones in this price range but in everyday use, it feels comparable to similar phones.

Phone supports Fast Charging which lets you charge it from 20% to 100% in about 38 minutes. It can get a bit warm during this process. If you use regular 80W charging, it takes about 47 minutes to reach a full charge.

Here’s how T3 Ultra compares to other phones:

  • Vivo T3 Ultra: 38 minutes
  • Realme GT 6T: 32 minutes
  • Honor 200: 39 minutes

During a gaming test with popular games like BGMI, Real Racing 3 and Call of Duty: Mobile, T3 Ultra’s battery dropped by 23% after 30 minutes of play. This is a bit more than other phones, so it may drain faster during heavy gaming.

Pros and Cons Vivo T3 Ultra

ProsCons
🖼️ Sleek, premium design🚫 No wireless charging support
📱 Good display📦 Bloatware and pre-installed apps
⚙️ Dimensity 9200+ chipset
🔋 Decent battery
🤳 Good front camera

Conclusion

Vivo T3 Ultra is like a blend of V40 and V40 Pro. It combines the powerful performance of V40 Pro with the lower price of V40. It has the same design and battery capacity as these two models. While it doesn’t have the advanced camera features of the Pro model, it still takes good photos and is IP68 dust and water resistant which is a great bonus. Another option in this price range is Realme GT 6T but T3 Ultra stands out with its better, slimmer design.
