Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G Design, build quality and handling
The design of the Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G is simple and classic. It has a plastic back that feels soft and doesnβt attract fingerprints. The phone comes in three colors: Midnight Black, Aurora Purple, and Ocean Blue.
The body is curved, making it comfortable to hold. Despite being plastic, it feels solid with no flex. It has an IP64 rating, meaning itβs dust-tight and splash-resistant.
The front is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and the middle frame looks like brushed metal. The power and volume buttons are thin but easy to use.
Phone features symmetrical speakers and an IR blaster. It also includes a 3.5mm audio jack, unlike the 5G version. The display has slim bezels with most sensors hidden underneath.
The in-display fingerprint reader is quick and accurate, making it simple to unlock the phone.
Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G Display, battery life, charging speed, speaker
Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G has a great display, featuring an OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. While it doesn’t have HDR support or 12-bit color like the 5G version, it’s still excellent. The maximum brightness reaches 1,800 nits, though itβs a bit lower than the 3,000 nits on the 5G model. In tests, the 4G version actually performed better in sustained brightness, hitting 1,500 nits in sunlight mode.
The phone offers a fixed refresh rate of 60Hz, 90Hz, or 120Hz. It doesn’t support adaptive refresh rates, so it stays at 60Hz when displaying static content. It supports Full HD streaming with HDR10 and Dolby Vision on platforms like Netflix.
With a 5,500 mAh battery, the Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G lasts about 12 hours of active use. The 45W charging speed isn’t as fast as previous models, but itβs still decent. The stereo speakers deliver clear sound with Dolby Atmos support, and the phone also has NFC, a 3.5mm audio jack, and an IR blaster.
For connectivity, it supports LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3 and has GPS with various location services. It also includes basic sensors like an accelerometer, gyroscope, and light sensor.
Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G Software and performance
Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS 1.02 with Android 14, while the Poco X7 Pro uses a newer version, HyperOS 2, based on Android 15. 4G version of Redmi Note 14 Pro is expected to get this update soon, though it’s frustrating that it currently offers fewer major updates. Xiaomi promises at least three years of major updates and four years of security patches.
The phoneβs software is similar to previous MIUI versions but looks more polished. It includes Google Gemini for AI assistance.
Performance-wise, the 4G model uses the MediaTek Helio G100 Ultra chipset, which is an improvement over the older Helio G99 but not a huge leap. It has a 6nm chip with a combination of ARM Cortex-A76 and Cortex-A55 cores. The phone is available in several configurations, with expandable storage.
Despite the less powerful chipset, the Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G works admirably for daily chores, while gaming at high settings may be difficult. It also handles heat well, with superb thermal management during stress testing, so the phone remains cool even after extended use.
Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G Camera, photo and video quality
Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G has a solid triple-camera setup. 200MP main camera captures detailed, colorful photos. The 8MP ultrawide is okay but could be better and 2MP macro camera lacks detail and has noise.
The 32MP front camera takes decent selfies, though they may be a bit soft. Daylight photos are good with nice color, but the dynamic range and contrast could improve. Night shots are great, especially with the main camera’s Night Mode that reduces noise and boosts colors.
The 2x zoom shots are clear and better than most phones in this range.

Conclusion
Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G has a few upgrades like better build quality, an IP64 water and dust resistance rating, and a larger 5,500 mAh battery. However, the performance and camera are similar to last year’s model. The new Helio G100 chipset doesnβt offer a big improvement over the previous version.
The phone feels sturdy with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and has a bright screen, though it lacks HDR support. The battery is bigger, but charging is slower. The stereo speakers work well, and the main camera performs well in low light, but the ultrawide camera isnβt great.
While the phone is decent, other devices like the Poco X7 offer better value for the price.
